Total Zionist War Against the Palestinians?
The New Indian Wars Directed at the Semitic Arabs of Palestine
Israel and its main partner in crime, the United States, are thoroughly exposed at this moment as inheritors and protagonists of the most crude forms of imperial savagery.
This imperial parallel is nowhere as striking as in the very clear comparisons between the US treatment of Native Americans and the Israeli treatment of Palestinians. Some of the parallels have been described by M. Reza Behnam in “Trails of Deception: What Palestinians and Native Americans Share. Behnam writes writes.
“As a result of then-President Andrew Jackson’s ethnic cleansing policies, an estimated 100,000 Native Americans from 18 tribes were forced from their lands in the Southeast and transferred to Indian Territory (Oklahoma) on land considered undesirable for the white man. Many perished as the US army marched them westward. On one march, the Trail of Tears, some 6,000 Cherokees died as they were made to walk 1,200 miles to Indian Territory.
Palestinians have faced similar hardships as Israel executes its ethnic cleansing policies. Palestinians have known many Trail of Tears since the Nakba. The more than 750,000 Palestinians and their progeny who were made refugees by the establishment of the Jewish state, have never been allowed to return to their ancestral homeland, while Israel’s law of return, allows Jews worldwide to emigrate to Israel anytime they want. Israel continues to cover Palestinian land with illegal Jewish “settlements,” and the infrastructure to serve them.

Israel’s character as an imperial power was underlined in the Six Day War in 1967. In Africa and Asia, the 1960s were a time when the imperial powers of Europe were coming unglued. The result was an era of so-called “decolonization,” although many economic means were employed to snare the former colonies into new forms of subordination to dominant centres of commercial and industrial power. Amidst all these alterations, Israel engaged in a classic imperial war of conquest. The Israeli Armed Forces illegally conquered more Palestinian territory in the style of America’s Indian wars.
Israel’s close relations beginning in the 1970s with the White minority regime of South Africa was often emphasized as a marker of its ongoing imperial character. During this era the charge was often levelled that both Israel and South Africa were organized as apartheid regimes. But Israel never went as far as bombing the Bantustans.
For some time now, the government of Israel has been extending its Jewish exclusivism beyond the realm of apartheid into the most ruthless forms of imperial repression through genocidal tactics.
This strategy is currently on public display as the Israeli government imposes on the dispossessed Indigenous people the latest techniques of ongoing land theft. The Palestinians of the Gaza death camp are being held in enclaves of mass murder where depriving people of life’s necessities is being openly practiced. Seen by some Israel officials as “little snakes,” children seem to be the main targets.
This barbaric treatment is justified as the collective punishment to be visited on “human animals” who refuse to submit to the dictate that they must somehow dematerialize themselves. The targets of attacks are people who refuse to accept the dictates of those who have designated themselves as members of a superior genre of human being.
Edward Said, Norman Finkelstein and Ilan Pappé are prominent among those who have forged a tradition of criticism aimed at explaining Israel’s adoption of the worst features of imperial malevolence. With the surprising developments taking place during this October of 2023, some new voices are taking up the subject of Israel and its role in the West and in the world.
One of these voices belongs to Shahid Bolsen. Bolsen is addressing the extraordinary events currently unfolding before our eyes from a perspective rooted in Islam, the Global South and the BRICS countries. In the final analysis, however, Bolsen’s analysis is global in scope. Here are a few of the phrases I have drawn from his full 15 minute presentation which is well worth a view.
When you declare your support for total Zionist war against the Palestinians… when you declare your support for a psychopath like Netanyahu calling for basically a Final Solution against the Palestinians, you are a deranged. immoral, barbaric, blood-thirsty, racist, savage and all your talk about human rights and the rule of law and all of that, it is all just hideous hypocrisy. You don’t mean anything you say about these subjects and you never did.
But the problem you are facing now, is that the people mean it. The population of the world mean it. People believe in these things [like the rule of law and human rights]. You think you can bully and intimidate as you always have. But things are different today. It isn’t 1991 or 2001. The West is in shambles. Europe is imploding. America is bankrupt.
You are shifting from sending all your money to a corrupt and steadily losing army of Ukraine, to now sending your money to the corrupt and steadily failing army of Israel, as if your own people don’t need that money.
