Sir Oswald Mosley and the Fascist Road Not Taken
With the Decline of Western Civilization Now Marked in the Blood-Stained Rubble of Gaza, Its Time to Revise the Historical Interpretations That Delivered Us to This Ugly Destination
By the time I was three years old in 1954, I was aware that my parents, Torontonians both, had been though a big and important war before I came into the world as their first-born child. My dad, a Captain in the Irish Regiment of Canada, had been near-fatally wounded in Italy by an enemy called “nazis.”
It took me longer to learn that my mom had also done military service. She was a naval nurse known in Canada as a “Wren.” My mother, Nancy Blair Fergusson before she was married, had served in the massive naval hospital in Halifax. This hospital received injured Canadian soldiers returning home from fighting the Axis powers.
This war of which my parents spoke, involved a very bad man named Hitler. I heard the name, “Hitler,” a lot in my early life. Who was this man really, I wondered. I still ask the same question. The big message my parents constantly wanted to me to understand, was that our side had won the war. Now we could make the good life that we deserved as victors of a very big fight.
My dad had a big scar from the wound he got when Germans soldiers shot him in Italy. The scar was between his neck and his shoulder. He told me it contained a piece of something called “shrapnel.” The doctors had decided not to remove it. My dad let me feel his shrapnel wound. It seemed weird that my father had a piece of World War II inside of him for the rest of his life.
Of course I felt very proud of of my dad, the war hero. He had the evidence of the shrapnel inside him to prove he had helped save our side and vanquish the losing side whose leader was Hitler.
This idea that we in North America were prominent among the winners of the biggest, most important and most noble war ever fought— or so I was told— stayed with me for a long time. This sense of being on the winning side seemed to correspond to my general feeling that, for most of my life, I was riding a wave of modest success and achievement. I suppose I pictured this ride as some kind of birthright bestowed on me as a child of two veterans of the Second World War.
I went from nursery school to a Ph.D, all in Toronto schools. For the most part I loved making my way through the post-war educational system. By and large I found that my teachers encouraged me to respectfully question authority and conveyed appreciation when I tried to come up with original and independent interpretations of various subjects.
All of this preparation led to my embarking in 1982 on a professorial career of teaching, research and publication on the subject of the treatment of Indigenous peoples in the Western Hemisphere since 1492.
Then in 2016 something very strange happened. Having climbed to the top of ladder of tenure and promotion at a Liberal Arts University in Lethbridge Alberta, I was suddenly targeted for professional annihilation by means of a specious smear campaign headed by B’nai Brith Canada, the local branch of the US-based Anti-Defamation League.
The Israel Lobby apparently wanted to discredit and deplatform me in order to push to the sidelines some of my more adventurous interpretations. Apparently I had struck a nerve with the comparisons I had been drawing on an Internet show called False Flag Weekly News. I used this venue to elaborate, among other topics, my thesis that the treatment of Native people in North America has been similar to the Israeli treatment of indigenous Palestinians.
Somehow the Israel Lobby had able to buy their way into a position of influence with the Board of Governors of my University. Agents of the Lobby thereby persuaded the University’s trustees to betray their fiduciary duty to protect academic freedom. Instead they simply ignored the collective agreement and the institution of tenure and suspended me in mid-term without pay. I was even instructed that I would be trespassing if I touched my foot on the campus where I had been teaching for 26 years.
In due course an Alberta court agreed that the University administration had violated numerous laws and policies in their haste to deplatform me. I was reinstated to my academic position but I was unable to make my way back into the classroom. I retired in 2018 in good standing as an Emeritus Professor.
These days universities all over the place are being pressured by the same Lobby that came after me. Many of the elaborate rules and policies of The Academy are being abandoned on demand in order to meet the directives of the Big Donors that dominate the Israel Lobby. This suspension of the rules is being done in the name of protecting Jewish students from the supposed Anti-Semitism of those on campus who publicly proclaim their opposition to the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.

To me the whole issue of who really won or lost the Second World War comes up when one considers who are the targets and who are the protagonists of the orgy of lawlessness that characterized the manufactured COVID crisis. The forcing on most of the world’s population of mandated injections that turned out to be military bioweapons disguised as medical cures, may yet result in more deaths and injuries than all of World War II.
Those who are paying attention well understand that this outcome is not a function of mistakes or incompetence. It is rather the planned result of policies promoting massive depopulation and enfeeblement, increased centralized control, transhuman robotization, and the universal digitalization of all flows of money and personal information. This scheme is intended to help along the quest of the rich and powerful to multiply their advantages and to sentence those in the receiving end of the “Great Reset” to forms of digital enslavement, the likes of which are unprecedented and abhorrent to even contemplate.
Everything, it seems, was turned upside down in the recent showdown over who will prevail in Ukraine. The Russian heirs to the Soviet Union, those that did the most to defeat the Hitlerian forces that my dad fought against, were designated the bad guys.
The supposed good guys of NATO, including Canada, sided with the Ukrainian government whose core constituencies included Nazi contingents on which Justin Trudeau and his chief handler, Ukrainian-Canadian Chrystia Freeland, showered praise, money, arms, and military training. This spectacle culminated in September of 2023 with standing ovations from all Canadian parliamentarians for a Ukrainian-Canadian veteran of Hitler’s Waffen SS. I wonder how my father, the wounded War Veteran of the Second World War, would have reacted if he had been around to see this travesty.
It seems like the farce in the Canadian Parliament was the final public embrace in a Western capital of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine. In recent years we have learned that Ukraine is a centre for major underground crime including child trafficking, organ harvesting, and the black marketing of drugs and weapons, including bioweapons
Joe and Hunter Biden were among the beneficiaries of this underground economy that enriched the Jewish plutocrats installed by US President Barak Obama via neocon Victoria Nuland in the Maidan regime change of 2014. Certainly Ukraine backed by NATO was not on the winning side of its proxy war with Russia, although the war profiteers and their bankers always win from such conflicts.
This kind of winning, however, was not what my parents had in mind when they tried to help me understand as a small child the kind of world I was inheriting. In telling me about this world that we had won in defeating the fascists, my mom and dad were letting me know what they had done with the flower of their young adulthood.

Then we come to Gaza. Gaza can be seen as a kind of global neon billboard advertising to the world the depths of depravity that have taken hold during these cataclysmic times. One of the background developments creating the context of the Gaza Massacre and Genocide is the kind of multiculturalism being forced on Western Europe and North America. There is a strong Zionist aspect to this insistence on maintaining open borders as a means of undermining national sovereignties and distinct national cultures.
In contrast to this propensity, there is an emerging consensus among many Jewish citizens of Zionist Israel that they cannot tolerate non-Jewish immigration let alone the continuing presence of indigenous Palestinians even in the caged and criminalized enclaves in which they are presently locked up.
Apparently many Jews inside and outside of Israel along with their Christian Zionist groupies see nothing wrong with cold-blooded mass murder as the basis of a final solution of the Palestinian problem. This final solution is meant to culminate in those pushing the military agenda of Operations Swords of Iron in the forced deportation of Palestinians survivors to anywhere but to Israel. The genocidal trajectory that the founders and builders of Israel have been pushing since 1948 is that those Palestinians compelled to leave Israel can never return to the ancestral home.
Are we now facing yet more evidence that the true winners of World War II are the Zionists? These Zionists found one another in the process of bringing the country of Israel into existence in a process that included initiating in 1948 the genocide of Palestinians. Their objective was to clear the way for a replacement population of European Jews claiming divine sanction for the takeover?
For me personally, the abandonment of the rules-based order became evident in 2016. This same abandonment is now on global display in the Gaza Massacre, an event that demonstrates the extreme alterations that have taken place since my parents explained to me how we had won the Second World War.
One of the implications of abandoning in the West several decades of progressive achievement, however imperfect, points to the importance of revising our understanding of history in order to better understand the dilemma of these times. It is this appreciation that caused me to view and carefully assess the career of Sir Oswald Mosley as portrayed in the documentary film embedded below. I want to thank Substack’s Julius Skoolafish for drawing my attention to this film by posting it.
I was somewhat aware of Mosley’s role as the leader of the British Fascists before the Second World War. But I was not aware of the large scale of the movement and how impressive Mosley was in his impassioned and extremely cogent public speaking. Nor had I any clear conception of how effective he was in personifying the manly attributes of decisive leadership that are so integral to the fascistic ideal.
The film maker Speropatria has mixed music and imagery in ways that underline his view of Mosley as one the the most “significant” figures of the 20th century. Speropatria’s portrait of Oswald helps me to appreciate how hollow and lame are the other presentations I have seen on British fascism. Clearly Zionist interpretations of Sir Oswald have made a caricature of him that unfortunately I swallowed without realizing it. No more! The nature of these times serves as an encouragement to dare think thoughts made previously to seem unthinkable due to the fake moral authority deployed by those that have so severely betrayed us
We need to follow the example of the Polish parliamentarian who used a fire extinguisher on a blazing menorah
Thank you Tony. The deconstruction of society is horrifying.
